Welcome to my Diary....

Well this diary is Ruth's idea.  She felt that people would love to know whats happening and been happening during the refurbishment at the East Beach. 

This picture is of Mark, the georgous one in the middle is ME and Ruth is on the right.  My son Edward is in the front.  We do have a very cute daughter called Amy who the guests love but she was unusually camera shy infront of Ruth.

Making the programme The Hotel Inspector was a very stressful business.  Enjoyable on one hand, however having someone scrutinise your work like that is very intense.  Then for Millions to watch it on the TV, well thats terrifying.

Mark and I have had this hotel for 3 years.  We had a 13 bedroom hotel before for 2 years.

Mark was a Retail manager for 20 years previously and I have had various businesses.  We decided in 2002 to have a complete lifestyle change.  So here we are!  With no Hospitality Management experience we are finding our feet.  Despite what Ruth said, I feel we are lovely people who are doing a good job with no money behind us.  Our guests love coming here but most importantly they like to return.

 Well I am GOB SMACKED at the amazing response we have had from the programe.  It has been fantastic.  I was on reception all day yesterday entering bookings that came off the fax it was really manic, great though.

However I have a dilema!!!  I just want to get the rest of the rooms done even more, spend spend, spend.  Every one loves the two new rooms so much!!

We have had a lot of people come to the hotel yesterday and today just to say hello.  How lovely is that.

I decided to take Mark out to lunch today.  He has been a bit stressed with all the work we have had on so we popped  to Hastings for lunch and to say hello to Alberto the lovely man from www.roomings.co.uk .  He is the man who's company supplied all the furniture and accessories for the two new rooms.  We were discussing chairs for our APRICOT lounge that Ruth hated. This lady came in the shop and said to me ''does your husband know your in here spending money''. Agghhhhh how mad is that.  I was really laughing so much.  Being recognised!!
